Composed for nine of them between 1796 and 1803, and the last in 1812, they stand from the outset at the hinge of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Almost twenty years ago, Renaud Capuçon performed this complete cycle in concert and then recorded it with Frank Braley.

Both were notable for the expressiveness, the elegance and the complementary playing of the two artists.

This season, he is joined by the young Japanese musician Mao Fujita, winner of the Clara Haskil Prize in Switzerland and silver medallist at the Tchaïkovski Competition in Moscow.

French audiences discovered him at the 2024 Easter edition of the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence, founded and directed by Renaud Capuçon, where they played a programme of trios with Kian Soltani. Now they come together as a duo for these two Paris dates devoted to Beethoven's sonatas.
