Syd Matters

There are first times you never forget. The first time you heard the captivating voice of Syd Matters is one of them.

From End & Start Again, its first single in 2003, the warm, soulful singing of Jonathan Morali and his singular melodies, as if drawn from another era, revealed an artist apart.

Four albums followed, along with their share of unforgettable songs: Black & White Eyes, Obstacles, To All Of You, and I Might Float, which marked a whole generation.

On stage, many remember intense concerts where the singer and his musicians delivered performances that were both epic and intimate.

Then Jonathan Morali became more discreet, though still just as prolific, writing for theatre, video games and cinema, and collaborating with Éric Rochant, Rémi Chayé, Thoms Litli, and notably on the remarkable series Life Is Strange, a worldwide hit that introduced him to a new audience.

Absent for too long, Syd Matters is set to make a grand return on record with a new album, its fifth, due out in September 2026 on the Créature label (Fishbach, Chassol…).

It will then tour France and Europe, returning to the legendary stage of L'Olympia on 17 November 2026, where it will play its new songs. And others that we know by heart and have not forgotten.
