Syd Matters

There are first times one never forgets. The first time we heard Syd Matters' captivating voice is one of them.

From End & Start Again, his first single in 2003, Jonathan Morali's warm and inhabited vocals and his singular melodies, as if from another age, revealed an apart artist.

Four albums would follow, along with unforgettable songs: Black & White Eyes, Obstacles, To All Of You, and I Might Float, which marked an entire generation. On stage, we remember intense concerts where the singer and his musicians delivered interpretations both epic and intimate.

Then Jonathan Morali became quieter but remained prolific, writing for theatre, video games, and film, collaborating with Éric Rochant, Rémi Chayé, Thoms Litli, and notably on the remarkable Life Is Strange series, a worldwide hit that introduced him to a new audience.

Away too long, Syd Matters will make his grand return with a new album, his fifth, to be released in September 2026 on the Créature label (Fishbach, Chassol…).

He will then tour in France and Europe, taking the stage of the mythical L'Olympia on November 17, 2026, where he will perform his new songs and others we know by heart and have not forgotten.
