Presented by Gérard Drout Productions. The Last Internationale is a New York-based band formed by singer Delila Paz and guitarist Edgey Pires. Having already supported Kiss and appeared at festivals such as Hellfest, Lollapalooza and the Heavy Week-End, the rock group is particularly known for its politically engaged lyrics and powerful live performances.
On 27 March, the band returned with its single ‘Animals’, delivering a hard-hitting track that is both raw and deeply committed. Driven by intense rock energy and constant tension, the song denounces the dehumanisation and the violence inflicted on those treated as ‘animals’. Through a dark, visceral narrative, the song questions collective responsibility and complicit silences. Caught between rage and lucidity, ‘Animals’ turns anger into an anthem of resistance.
Following ‘Animals’, the band unveils on 12 June ‘People Let’s Stop the War’, an explosive cover of Grand Funk Railroad’s protest anthem released in 1971. The track regains all its force through the visceral performance of Delila Paz and the powerful guitars of Edgey Pires, accompanied by Billy Sheehan (bass) and Ray Luzier (drums). A sound that bridges Led Zeppelin and Rage Against The Machine, with a modern production and undiminished fury.
From the Vietnam War to the conflicts still shaking the world today, the message has lost none of its relevance; if anything, it has hardened over time. ‘People Let’s Stop the War’ breathes new life into a protest rock classic, more urgent than ever.
