About — The artist
Alex Henry Foster is a Canadian singer-songwriter and musician, best known as the lead singer and spokesperson for the Montreal-based band Your Favorite Enemies.
The band was founded in 2006 and was nominated for a Juno Award for their album Between Illness and Migration in 2015.
In 2018, Foster announced the release of his debut solo album, Windows in the Sky, via Hopeful Tragedy Records and Sony Music / The Orchard. His first solo album reached number one in the All Genres category on the iTunes charts in Canada in its first week of release and reached number six on the Canadian Billboard chart in its second week. Alex Henry Foster's album Windows in the Sky was also nominated for an ADISQ award for the first time in 2019, in the Album of the Year - Anglophone category.
In 2020, Alex Henry Foster and his band The Long Shadows embarked on their first tour, alongside …And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead. He also released an EP and music videos for the song Summertime Departures, as well as an EP and a short film for the song The Hunter (By the Seaside Window).
On May 1, 2020, his debut solo album, Windows in the Sky, was released worldwide, with the launch event taking place on Prog (magazine)'s online portal, through a 60-minute concert broadcast live from Alex Henry Foster's studio, located in a former Catholic church near the city of Montreal. He was also interviewed by Rolling Stone France upon the album's release and featured on the magazine's front page.
