Benighted is a French brutal deathgrind band from Saint-Étienne. Formed in May 1998 following various encounters at concerts, the band consists of vocalist Julien Truchan, guitarist Emmanuel Dalle, bassist Pierre Arnoux, and drummer Matthias Biechler. Since its formation, the band has released a total of ten studio albums.
