About — The artist
Hooverphonic are a Belgian trip hop band formed in 1995 by Alex Callier (bassist and programmer), Raymond Geerts (guitarist), Frank Duchêne (keyboards) and singer Esther Lybeert. She left the band very early on, though she does appear on a few demos from the first album. She was replaced by Liesje Sadonius, who features on the final studio version of the first album. Sadonius left after recording it and was briefly replaced by Kyoko Baertsoen of Lunascape, then by Geike Arnaert from the second album through to 2008. Noémie Wolfs (from Montaigu) was the band's singer until 29 March 2015. She was then replaced by Luka Cruysberghs. On 9 November 2020, Hooverphonic announced Geike Arnaert's return as lead singer.
