Julie Pietri, real name Nicole Pietri, born on 1 May 1955 in Douera, a suburb of Algiers (repatriated from Algeria in 1962), is a French singer and actress, a member of La Bande à Basile in the 1970s and author of several hits, notably Ève lève-toi, which reached number 1 on the Top 50 in November 1986.
Julie Pietri's career saw successes before and after Ève lève-toi: Magdalena, Je veux croire, Et c'est comme si, Amoureux fous in a duet with Herbert Léonard, Nouvelle vie, Canto di Sorenza, Si on parlait de ma vie, etc.
Considered an "icon of the 1980s", Julie Pietri had a more discreet presence in the 1990s, notably to dedicate herself to raising her daughter, before experiencing a resurgence in popularity from the 2000s onwards. In the 2010s, she participated in the tours Âge tendre et Têtes de bois and Stars 80.
