About — The artist

Offenbach is a Quebecois rock and blues band, originally from Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, which was very popular during its existence from 1969 to 1985. It was reformed several times with different musicians over the years.

The band's successes are mainly found on eight albums: Soap Opera (1972), Tabarnac (1974), Offenbach (1977), Traversion (1979), En fusion (1980), Coup de Foudre!! (1981), Tonnedebrick (1983), and finally Rockorama (1985). Before disbanding in 1985, the group gave its last two concerts on the stages of the Colisée de Québec and the Forum de Montréal. After embarking on a solo career by releasing his album Rendez-vous doux in 1988, singer Gerry Boulet died on July 18, 1990, from cancer. The band reformed in 1997-1998, with Martin Deschamps as lead singer. They then re-recorded the band's old hits in 2005, in an acoustic version on the album Nature.
