The Wallflowers

The Wallflowers is an American rock band from Los Angeles, California, founded in 1989. It is composed of Jakob Dylan (guitar and vocals), Rami Jaffee (piano and Hammond B3 organ), Greg Richling (bass), Jack Irons (drums), and Stuart Mathis (guitar). They have released six studio albums, a compilation, and have had several songs on television and in films. They won two Grammy Awards in the categories of 'Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group' and 'Best Rock Vocal Performance' for their song One Headlight in 1998.

They are pioneers of the rock 'n' roll revival of the 1990s. The Wallflowers established themselves on the American and world stage. Jakob Dylan, the essence of the band, has a recognized poetic sense. Some Wallflowers songs: Sleepwalker, 6th Avenue Heartache, One Headlight, Ashes to Ashes, Empire in My Mind, When You're on Top, I've Been Delivered, Heroes (David Bowie cover), Letters from the Wasteland, Beautiful Side of Somewhere, and Closer 2 You. The Wallflowers also performed the soundtrack to the Godzilla film, Heroes, a cover of the less structured but more rock version than David Bowie's. The main influences of The Wallflowers are: Tom Petty, The Clash, Bruce Springsteen, and Elvis Costello.
