Ce qui Brûle en Silence

Music Claudio Monteverdi, Barbara Strozzi, Philippe Fénelon Based on La Dispute by Marivaux Staging and adaptation Victoria Sitjà Musical direction Evann Loget-Raymond Set design and costumes Lucie Mazières Lighting Louis Sady With the artists of the Académie de l'Opéra national de Paris 8pm Languages: French, German.

Who committed the first infidelity, the man or the woman?

To settle the question, a prince reveals to his court and to the woman he covets the experiment once imagined by his father: to return to the origins of the world by staging the encounter of four adolescents, isolated from society and from one another for 17 years.

First glances, first emotions, an upheaval of the senses. Soon the experiment takes unexpected paths, leaving the question unanswered.

Loosely inspired by La Dispute by Marivaux, the new creation of the Académie de l'Opéra national de Paris, Ce qui brûle en silence, brings out the themes of love, desire and domination with madrigals by Claudio Monteverdi, Barbara Strozzi and Philippe Fénelon, as so many echoes of the stirrings of the heart but also of the cruelty of a merciless court.

Blending baroque and contemporary music, Victoria Sitjà stages this musical show performed by the artists in residence at the Académie. Production Académie de l'Opéra national de Paris Co-presented by Académie de l'Opéra national de Paris and Athénée Théâtre Louis-Jouvet
