Electre

Presented by La Compagnie de L'Elan. A symbol of the pursuit of absolute truth and an enemy of compromise, Électre, like Antigone, follows her quest for justice to the very end, even at the cost of losing everything, even at the cost of destroying everything.

In this, she is eternal. Giraudoux has written a masterpiece of tenderness and cruelty, casting a keen, incisive eye on characters who are tragic for some and at times richly comic or poetic for others, drawn from the archetypes of ancient tragedy yet still so close to us.

It is the work of a great writer and a poet of the lives of men and women. A subtle and savoury blend of tragedy and comedy. Duration: 2h15.
