As Gilberto Gil, a legend of Brazilian music, brings his career to a close, the very strong bond he has forged with his descendants serves as an unhoped-for extension of his talent. Founded in 2018, the group of Francisco, João and José Gil, sons and grandson of Gilberto, now counts among the most creative bands in Brazil. Blending pop, samba, reggae and the rhythms of Bahia with masterful skill to create a very personal sonic cocktail, the Gilsons are writing a new chapter in MPB, an acronym that instantly evokes the best of Brazilian music, itself born from the most fertile cultural movement the country has known.

Having already scored hits with several singles ("Várias Queixas", "Devagarinho"), the Gilsons released their first album "Pra Gente Acordar", which was promptly nominated for a Latin Grammy in the category "Best Contemporary Pop Album in Portuguese". Having welcomed Gilberto Gil in 2018, La Seine Musicale is delighted to open the doors of its Auditorium to the young generation of Brazilian Popular Music.
