Overview
This musical cycle invites you to discover major works of the classical repertoire through listening, exchange, and emotion. An accessible and sensitive approach to delve into the heart of musical creation and what it says about our humanity.
Conceived by violinist Paul Serri, this cycle continues his exploration of major repertoire works by combining transmission, interpretation, and listening.
Each event offers the chance to discover a score through its historical context, the performers' choices, and the emotions it conveys, before hearing its full execution. This season, Beethoven will be one of the recurring themes of the journey.
A composer profoundly marked by the ideals of freedom and emancipation, he constantly pushed the boundaries of musical creation.
His works will converse with those of César Franck, Brahms, and Shostakovich, offering various perspectives on the great questions that traverse our existences: trust, memory, commitment, doubt, and hope.
Led by Paul Serri, the Katok Ensemble, and numerous guest artists, these educational concerts are aimed at both seasoned music lovers and those who wish to discover classical music in a different way: as a living, shared, and profoundly contemporary experience.
Programme Saturday 26 September • 5 pm Beethoven – String Quartet No. 8 in E minor, Op. 59 No. 2 Rasumovsky Paul Serri & Katok Ensemble Throughout the season, Beethoven will be one of the recurring themes of our musical journey.

A profoundly humanist figure, driven by the ideals of freedom, equality, and emancipation of his time, Beethoven constantly pushed the limits of musical writing.
True laboratories of creation, his quartets will allow us to discover the richness of his musical thought and the extraordinary trajectory of an artist who profoundly transformed the history of music.
