Pour un temps sois peu, spectacle de Laurène Marx au Carreau du Temple

Alone on stage, microphone in hand, Laurène Marx delivers with bracing candour the lived experience of a non-binary trans woman and takes back the word where others have confiscated it!

Last dates to see this show, which will not be touring again! In a poignant one-woman show that is as much autofiction as manifesto, Laurène Marx hammers out her raw writing to recount the lived experience of being trans and the capacity to overturn norms.

With her punchy writing and devastating presence, the actress, author and director Laurène Marx tore through theatres in 2022 with Pour un temps sois peu, and has not left them since.

Poised between monologue and “sad stand-up”, this poignant account traces the trajectory of a trans woman, interweaving testimonies of micro- and macro-aggressions, symbolic violence, and questions about romantic relationships and how society perceives being trans and non-binary.

A manifesto to put the voices of trans people back at the centre, this autofiction intends to undo an imaginary long shaped by the fantasies of people who are not concerned.

Firmly planted behind her microphone, Laurène Marx addresses the audience head-on, armed with an incisive and honest style, to undermine the gender, sex and class assignments that govern society. A show that reclaims power over the intimate speech of trans people.

And a political uppercut. Têtu,
