Overview
Spectacle of the Dance School, Palais Garnier. Duration: 2h30 with 2 intervals. Language: French.
A highlight of the Dance School, directed by Élisabeth Platel, the annual Spectacle is a much-anticipated moment, giving students their first stage experiences and letting audiences discover the richness of the choreographic vocabulary taught there.
This season, the show opens with Suite de danses by Ivan Clustine, a tribute to the French school with Russian influences, set to the music of Chopin. The young dancers continue with the more contemporary gestures of the tale Ma Mère l'Oye (Mother Goose), by Martin Chaix.
Finally, in John Taras's fantastical ballet Piège de lumière (Design for Strings), they take flight, transformed into butterflies in a tropical forest. Orchestra of the Laureates of the Conservatoire national Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris
