Two sisters, Annie and Issy, reunite for the anniversary of their father's death. In an urn lie the ashes of their father, who committed suicide several years ago. Chris, the sisters' uncle, is ready to scatter them in a park and offer the family a new future. Annie refuses. Behind what appears to be a contemporary drama lies a much older conflict, that of Antigone, Sophocles' tragedy, whose themes are reactivated with a touch of humour in this play written and directed by Alexander Zeldin. From this dysfunctional family, he makes an almost clinical observation, an analysis of formidable accuracy. With this play, which premiered at the National Theatre in London and was acclaimed by critics and audiences alike, a new facet of his work is to be discovered, of rare intensity!
