Overview
Following the notable re-release of their debut album ‘AMG EXTENDED’, very quickly followed by their first live album ‘GATE 01 - Live at Sunside’, the Parisian quartet AMG are establishing themselves as a key player in contemporary jazz.
Heirs to Coltrane and McCoy Tyner, Antoine Fleury (piano), Keïta Janota (saxophones), Anthony Jouravsky (double bass) and Mailo Rakotonanahary (drums) fuse virtuosity and intensity to deliver incandescent, uncompromising music.
On stage, their raw energy electrifies the audience and redefines the boundaries of the genre. AMG, besides being a gathering of possessed prodigies, is a band, a sound, an energy, a spirit, a fire.
At once rooted and modern, by turns feverish and serene, AMG's music debunks many of the era's clichés: jazz, as approached and practiced by these twenty-somethings who cite modern jazz giants as well as their new-millennium disciples or the young guard of French rap, is a music of the 21st century.
