Le Dibbouk - Entre Deux Mondes

Presented by Le Théâtre de l'épée de bois« … A great misfortune has befallen us, the soul of Khanan, who has died, has taken possession of Léa's body! … It is a dibbouk!!!  »The Dibbouk, a theatrical monument of Jewish culture, was created in 1920 during a period of great global upheaval, a prelude to the catastrophes that followed. Today we are living through a shifting of History, an age of fury in which our landmarks are cracking. As the play's subtitle suggests, here we stand “between two worlds”.The Dibbouk tells a story of love and possession, haunted by the memory of a betrothed couple massacred during a pogrom in a shtetl on the day of their wedding. Like a repetition of History, we are once again called to remember the tragic hours of humanity.
