Lisa Perrio

In this one-woman show co-written with Florian Nardone, Lisa brings to life the characters she meets over the course of her day: Kim, the misogynistic and misandrist artistic director; Marc, the gynaecologist frustrated at not living out his passion for the theatre; Candice, the fitness coach who only exists through the eyes of men… Through them, Lisa has fun with our absurdities, our contradictions and our awkwardness.

Driven by communicative energy, the show strings together situations that are as embarrassing as they are recognisable. Lisa's gaze observes our foibles with bite and tenderness, always accompanied by a disarming smile that invites complicity.

Touch by touch, in the manner of an impressionist, a more intimate story also takes shape within this gallery of characters: that of waiting for an absent father.

It's complicated, I'll explain is a brilliantly written show, populated with endearing characters, which reveals a singular artist, capable of unsettling the everyday to better bring out laughter.
