Marcher dans tes pas de Léonor de Récondo

Our identities are built in the footsteps of those who came before us, between inherited silences and stories to be reinvented. With this show, literature and music come together to bring forth an intimate and collective memory, marked by exile and transmission. How do we inhabit an identity shaped by a history that precedes us and continues to run through us?

In this musical reading, Léonor de Récondo lends her voice and her violin to the story of Enriqueta, her grandmother, forced to flee her family home in Irun on 18 August 1936, threatened by the Francoists.

In a few minutes, everything changed: childhood, home, daily routines, a rice pudding left forever on the kitchen table. Nearly ninety years later, this suspended image becomes the starting point for a sensitive investigation into exile, filiation, and identity.

Between prose and poetry, music and silence, the narrative weaves together childhood memories, fragmentary archives, and novelistic imagination.

The question of Spanish nationality, made accessible again to descendants of republican exiles, runs through the text as an intimate inquiry: what does it mean to reclaim a lost identity?
