Michael Felberbaum Quartet

With Felberbaum, music lives, breathes, it takes you to hypnotic zones. This quartet forges an open and captivating group sound that transforms a concert into a journey.

After two albums and years of on-stage rapport, Italian-American guitarist Michael Felberbaum reunites with Pierre de Bethmann on piano and keyboards, Gabriel Midon on double bass and Karl Jannuska on drums — and we're a bit excited like when you recognize an old song you love from the first seconds.

It promises contemporary jazz that is both sensitive and energetic, that catches the ear by surprise, tickles the soul and delivers some subtle grooves.

With Felberbaum, music is never simply played: it lives, it breathes and sometimes it takes you to almost hypnotic, almost psychedelic zones, where improvisation has as much place as raw emotion.

The jazz press has praised his ability in the past to blend intelligence and emotion in his projects.

We've also noticed him in previous formations for his subtle dialogues between instruments, where each musician becomes both soloist and partner, and where the cohesion of the group is what makes the music vibrate from within.

In short, this quartet forges a true group sound, open and captivating, that transforms a concert into an intense musical journey, almost jubilant. One of those evenings you leave wondering how the hours flew by so fast.
