Michel Zenino & Ronnie Lynn Patterson

Gypsy jazz — Maestro of Italian swing, Simone Magliozzi enchants the Parisian scene with his trio, paying tribute to the legendary Django Reinhardt.

A key double bassist on the French jazz scene, Michel Zenino has built a career rich in collaborations with major jazz figures such as Archie Shepp, Barney Wilen, Toots Thielemans, James Carter and Eric Truffaz.

Winner of the La Défense National Jazz Competition in 1988, he is recognised for the depth of his playing, his virtuosity and his sense of listening, both on stage and through his work as a teacher.

Alongside him, Ronnie Lynn Patterson, a self-taught pianist based in France since 1991, develops a distinctive world shaped by the legacy of Keith Jarrett, McCoy Tyner and composer Morton Feldman.

His approach — free, sensitive and deeply personal — has earned him critical acclaim and collaborations with musicians such as Jean-Jacques Avenel and Didier Lasserre.

Together as a duo, Michel Zenino and Ronnie Lynn Patterson offer a musical conversation of great subtlety, where double bass and piano converse with elegance, complicity and a freedom of improvisation that leaves full room for the moment.

Line-up: Ronnie Lynn Patterson: piano; Michel Zenino: double bass. Le 38Riv Jazz Club is an intimate venue in the heart of the Marais (38 rue de Rivoli, Paris 4th), dedicated to jazz and improvised music.
