Radio France's Présences festival marks Arvo Pärt in 2027, while still championing contemporary creation with two new works to discover.
Pärt: Tabula rasa
Criton: Alter, for soprano and orchestra (French premiere)
Chauris: Presque ta voix, violin concerto (commissioned by Radio France, world premiere)
Pärt: Symphony No. 2
In brief
Once again, Radio France takes one of the Présences festival's concerts out of its usual home, and this edition features no fewer than two premieres. The first is the French premiere of a work for soprano and orchestra by the French composer Pascale Criton, performed by the British soprano Juliet Fraser, who is deeply committed to the contemporary repertoire. It is followed by the violin concerto by Yves Chauris, which Renaud Capuçon will give its world premiere. These two new works will be framed by two major pieces by the Estonian composer Arvo Pärt, guest of honour at the 2027 edition of the festival.
