vision seeks new ways of being together by exploring an seemingly simple question: what does seeing mean, and in this case, watching? Éric Minh Cuong Castaing, Aloun Marchal, Marine Relinger.

For nearly twenty years, the Shönen company, born under the impetus of choreographer and visual artist Éric Minh Cuong Castaing, has explored the link between art and society.

Claiming in-society projects, not overlooking any issues related to inclusion, the company has specialized in alter-spectacularity, for example by partnering with performers with disabilities.

The purpose of vision is to emphasize the gaze spectators direct at performers, and vice versa.

Whether dancers, actors, musicians, all artists participating in this show have visual impairments to varying degrees: partially or non-sighted, their vision is blurry, double, peripheral, when they are not unable to see, due to blindness.

Thus, this show emphasizes other senses: hearing, of course, or even touch. Inclusion, it will be understood, is at the heart of the approach. But inclusion is also the participation of spectators in this other way of thinking relationships between art and society.

So, from a performance, one moves to a stroll through the walls of Théâtre du Châtelet: not only is this another way of occupying space, but it's also an act of solidarity and brotherhood.
