Astor Piazzolla was an Argentine bandoneonist and composer, born in 1921 in Mar del Plata and who died in 1992. A leading figure of tango nuevo, he was active from 1933 and released his first album, "Lo que vendrá", on the label Chesky in 1957.

Ástor Piazzolla, born on March 11, 1921, in Mar del Plata and died on July 4, 1992, in Buenos Aires, was an Argentinian composer and bandoneon player. He is considered the most important musician of the second half of the 20th century for tango music.
