About — The artist

Belle Époque is a French disco group, active between 1976 and 1979. It was formed and composed of French singer Evelyne Lenton (real name Évelyne Verrecchia), a former yéyé star known as Evy, her brother, producer Albert Weyman (Albert Verrecchia), and, originally, her backing vocalists, Giusy Fortes from Cape Verde and Marzia Thear from America.

The group achieved several major successes: Black is Black (No. 1 in Great Britain in 1976), Miss Broadway (No. 1 in Great Britain, No. 15 in the United States in 1977). Other notable tracks include Bamalama (1978) and Stranger Once Again (1979). In 1982, Evelyne Lenton resumed her solo career and released two albums.
