About — The artist

Emmanuel Pahud, born on January 27, 1970, in Geneva, is a Swiss and French flutist residing in Germany (Berlin), primarily known for his baroque and classical repertoire.

Pahud was not born into a family of musicians. It was during his youth that the sounds of the flute captivated him. From the age of four to twenty-two, he was taught and mentored notably by flutists Carlos Bruneel and Aurèle Nicolet. Trained at the Conservatoire de Paris, he embarked on a solo career and joined the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra in 1992.

His repertoire is very varied; he plays baroque, classical, and contemporary music.
