About — The artist
Frédéric Vaysse-Knitter is a French pianist of Polish origin, born in 1975.
At the age of thirteen, he entered the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris where he studied under masters Ventsislav Yankoff, Michel Béroff, and Denis Pascal, earning a first prize in piano and chamber music, and completing the advanced training cycle.
He then had a decisive encounter with Krystian Zimerman, who advised and guided him in his choices. He joined the Musikhochschule in Freiburg and obtained a Soloist diploma. Finally, he perfected his skills with musical authorities such as György Sebők, Alexis Weissenberg, Alicia de Larrocha, and Leon Fleisher at the International Lake Como Foundation.
His recording “Monsieur Satie, l’homme qui avait un petit piano dans la tête”, with text by Carl Norac, narrated by François Morel and illustrated by Élodie Nouhen, was awarded a Grand Prix de l’Académie Charles-Cros 2006 and an ADAMI Youth Prize.
