Ballet national de Marseille

Once again, the company has created a score in which movement brings to the surface bodies under tension, shaped by the narratives and imaginaries of our time.

The piece is born at a moment of tipping point, when the world seems to be losing its footing. Under the weight of crises and collective exhaustion, the bodies of thirteen performers waver, fall and come apart even before anything has begun. Turning back the clock, it then attempts an impossible return to the past, as if to get ahead of catastrophe and halt wear and tear. To carry this vision, Marine Brutti, Jonathan Debrouwer and Arthur Harel deploy a large-scale stage design. The stage transforms, immersing the audience in an extraordinary experience. From this crossing emerges a shared energy, a way of being together differently and the possibility of a shared joy.
