Overview
Drawing on a repertoire that stretches from Bach to contemporary creation, this recital showcases the richness and diversity of the organ's musical language.
Transcriptions, original works and improvisation follow one another across a programme that reveals the full extent of the instrument's expressive resources.
The masterpieces of the German and French repertoire engage in dialogue with the worlds of Rachmaninov, Mobberley and Christophe Guyard, illustrating the organ's capacity to embrace the most varied aesthetics.
From Bach's meditations to the great Romantic pages of Vierne and Dupré, by way of contemporary works open to new sonorities, this journey bears witness to the vitality of a heritage that is constantly renewed.
The high point of the evening, improvisation brings into being, in the moment, a unique work shaped by the exceptional acoustics of the cathedral and the colours of the great organ of Notre-Dame de Paris.
