Récital d’Orgue : Thibault Fajoles

From Bach to Widor, by way of Mendelssohn, Brahms and Franck, this recital offers a journey through the heart of the German and French organ traditions.

Heirs to a shared spiritual and musical heritage, these composers found in the chorale a privileged source of inspiration, giving rise to works in which meditative depth, contrapuntal mastery and richness of sound come together.

Built around Johann Sebastian Bach, whose major pieces punctuate the programme, the concert highlights the lasting influence of the Cantor of Leipzig on the generations that followed him.

Brahms's chorale meditations respond to the works of Mendelssohn, an essential figure in the nineteenth-century rediscovery of Bach, while Franck and Widor illustrate the flowering of this tradition in the French organ school.

Performed on the grand organ of Notre-Dame de Paris, the programme invites listeners on a musical journey where recollection, virtuosity and spiritual inspiration engage in dialogue.
