Soulèvment

Powerful and collective, this new creation explores the energy of uprising. Inspired by the movements of revolt that have run through history, the piece stages bodies that gather, scatter and rise again. Through this exploration, dance becomes a language of freedom and opens a space where the finest feelings of brotherhood, solidarity and renewal can take root.

The twelve performers, accompanied by the musical creation of Irène Drésel, embody a crowd of resistances, singular and collective, carried by one and the same breath of hope. Soulèvement is the latest creation by choreographer Angelin Preljocaj, director of the Centre Chorégraphique National d'Aix-en-Provence. His works, sometimes inspired by the classical repertoire, are resolutely contemporary and constantly renew the dialogue between the arts.
