Wayfinder

Rooted in the lands of the Wulgurukaba and Bindal peoples, whose living cultures it acknowledges and honours, the company develops a careful body of work attentive to stories, bodies and inheritances.

Directed by Amber Haines and Kyle Page, the company joins forces with the Australian-Japanese artist Hiromi Tango to create an immersive experience in which dance, music and visual arts respond to one another. The performers, of remarkable physical virtuosity, seem to play with the limits of movement and balance. Carried by a musical creation from the Grammy-nominated group Hiatus Kaiyote, accompanied by a sound design by Byron J. Scullin, the piece unfolds a collective energy that moves through a kaleidoscopic world of sound, bodies and images. Wayfinder offers a sensitive journey in connection with others and with the environment. At the heart of this effervescence, the piece invites audiences to rediscover a shared sense of common momentum.
