Brad Mehldau

Brad MehldauSeeing Brad Mehldau in concert means feeling him fully inhabit a place. His music fills the space, the hearts, the minds. The most creative and most delicate pianist of the past 30 years is making a stop at the Théâtre de SaintQuentin-en-Yvelines: a privilege.

Brad Mehldau is a creator. The unique atmosphere of his concerts immediately brings the listener to a total state of listening and communion. With 14 Rêveries, Brad Mehldau invites us to introspection, to withdraw from the world.

Conducive to meditation, his short pieces stir up jostling emotions, and it matters that we let them overwhelm us. Just as it matters, for the composer, to give free rein to the performer, as evidenced by those pieces which, in some cases, contain no bar lines.

Riding the momentum of the album Suite: April 2020, written during lockdown and whose pieces each paired a particular moment with a feeling, these Rêveries celebrate the absolute freedom of sensations: for the one who plays as much as for the one who listens. Duration: 1h15
