MASSY OPERA ORCHESTRA A PROGRAM ON THE THEME OF CHILDHOOD, WITH ESSENTIAL WORKS BY SCHUBERT, ROUSSEL AND BIZET. Franz Schubert, mainly known for his lieder, also composed ten symphonies.
His Third, despite being the work of a composer only 18 years old, is already very accomplished both harmonically and in the use made of romantic orchestra colors. This first part will be followed by Albert Roussel's most famous work, The Spider's Feast.
This ballet-pantomime focuses on the arrival of insects serving as a meal for the famous arachnid. It is Bizet and his little suite drawn from Children's Games that will conclude this concert.
