Roméo et Juliette - Mise en scène par Guillaume Séverac-Schmitz

ROMEO AND JULIETGuillaume Séverac-Schmitz brings together a largely female cast in a multidisciplinary show that blends theatre, video, live music and dance.

Everyone knows Romeo and Juliet as the great love story between two young people, each from a family at war with the other, a family hatred that will ultimately destroy the lovers in a terrible violence.

It is a passionate play about two beings who confuse love and desire, love and passion, and it warns us not to entrust to love what love cannot bear. But it is also a play about the magnificent impatience of youth, and its capacity to believe in its wildest dreams and utopias.

Following the success of Richard III at the Opéra de Massy, Guillaume Séverac-Schmitz continues his dialogue with Shakespeare by taking on Romeo and Juliet.

Faithful to his generous and spectacular theatre, he reveals the full modernity of this work, in which youth rises up against the violence of the world and dares to believe in the impossible. 13.
