Le Temps d'Aimer by Reynaldo Hahn is a romantic comedy that explores, with subtlety and irony, the mechanisms of desire, of couples and of the passing of time.

Faithful to their repertoire of light French lyric works of the 19th and 20th centuries, the Frivolités Parisiennes bring to the fore this work with thoroughly contemporary themes, which has never been revived since its premiere in 1926.

Armand, a mature man, passionately loves his young wife Suzette. Aware of the age gap between them, he seeks to hold back time and to preserve the image of love as he believes it must be: young, seductive, hyperactive.

But to carry out this deception he believes necessary, he takes refuge with his friend Hélène to 'pep himself up' discreetly.

The lie fabricated for these little escapes will be discovered and the trust between him and his wife broken, without her ever knowing the true reasons for these outings to Hélène's.
