About — The artist
Cocanha is a polyphonic dance-song group based in Toulouse. Its members are Caroline Dufau and Lila Fraysse, both on vocals and percussion, joined by Sanz Grosclaude for concert sound engineering. They arrange and compose their music from the traditional Occitan repertoire.
They accompany their voices with Pyrenean string tambourines, amplified wooden boards for foot rhythms (podorythmie), and hand claps. They make most of their own music videos themselves, in collaboration with Amic Bedel of Piget Films.
