David Krakauer, born on September 22, 1956, in New York, is an American clarinetist specialising in klezmer music.
He is one of the emblematic figures of the klezmer revival, marrying it with jazz, blues, rock, funk, and electronic music, and blending traditional and electric instruments. A member of several groups including The Klezmatics, Klezmer Madness! and Abraham Inc., he continues his collaborations with classical and contemporary music ensembles in parallel.
