About — The artist
Les Négresses Vertes is a French folk music group. It was formed in 1987 by musicians, some of whom came from punk rock backgrounds. Their music blends the guinguette style with Mediterranean influences. They later evolved towards electronic music. The group disbanded in 2001, and briefly reformed for a few concerts in 2016. In 2018, the group embarked on a tour to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of their debut album, Mlah, and continued it into 2019.
