About — The artist
Peter Hook, known as “Hooky” [ˈpiːtə hʊk], born on 13 February 1956, is an English musician and bassist. He is known for being the bassist and founder of the cold wave band Joy Division. Following the suicide of singer Ian Curtis on 18 May 1980, he formed New Order with the remaining members of Joy Division: Stephen Morris on drums and Bernard Sumner on vocals, guitar, and keyboards. Gillian Gilbert would join them shortly after on guitar and keyboards.
