Rafał Blechacz (pronounced in French [ʁa.fa.ɛl blɛ.xat͡ʃ ]), born on 30 June 1985 in Nakło nad Notecią (Bydgoszcz Voivodeship, now Kuyavian-Pomeranian), is a Polish pianist.
In 2003, he won the Hamamatsu Competition in Japan (ex aequo) at the age of eighteen; but it was his overwhelming victory at the Chopin Competition two years later — with the jury deciding not to award a second prize — that truly launched his career.
In 2014, he received the prestigious Gilmore Artist Award in Kalamazoo (Michigan). He was again noted in 2017 for his album dedicated to Bach.
