Overview
Florence Caillon, circus performer and composer, dives into the imaginary world of Tchaikovsky's legendary ballet Swan Lake. Here, the artist reworks the original score with contemporary motifs, weaving in sounds of nature and instruments from around the world.
On stage, six circus-dancer performers in lace and tutus form a striking community of black and white swans. Their movement blends acrobatic feats, lifts and balances with the expressiveness and virtuosity of dance.
Florence Caillon's contemporary writing blurs the codes, full of references to classical ballet, but also to hip-hop and capoeira. Solo or in groups, the performers draw alternately on animal and human behaviour.
Between illusory love and recognition of the other, the piece speaks to us of life's fragility and our unbreakable bond with the living world. Superb! Duration: 1h10 Wheelchair booking: 01 41 83 15 20
