Overview
and its executive producer ERDA, Insula orchestra Clarinettist Pierre Génisson brings together a constellation of artists for an evening of celebration at the crossroads of genres, swinging Viennese refinement to the rhythm of Broadway.
The clarinet is the chameleon instrument par excellence: it can sing in Mozart and groove in Benny Goodman.
For this 'crossover' programme, Pierre Génisson surrounds himself with an exceptional found family — from Natalie Dessay to Philippe Jaroussky, via Lambert Wilson and the Quatuor Arod — to break down musical borders.
From the romantic salons of Brahms and Schumann to the jazz clubs of New York, this musical panorama brings the great classical repertoire into dialogue with the eternal standards of Cole Porter, Frank Sinatra and Michel Legrand.
A virtuoso, relaxed celebration where the elegance of French melody meets the irresistible energy of music hall.
PROGRAMME Works by Mozart, Poulenc, Schumann, Brahms, Bernstein, Gershwin Songs and standards by Cole Porter, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, Benny Goodman, Édith Piaf, Michel Legrand...
