About — The artist
Snarky Puppy is an instrumental fusion band based in Brooklyn, led by composer, producer and bassist Michael League.
The group's first album, The Only Constant, was released in 2006. It was released, like the next two albums on Sitmom Records. From the 5th album, Tell Your Friends (2010), the band chose Ropeadope Records as their label.
The album We Like It Here was recorded live in October 2013 in Utrecht; it was released in February 2014, debuting at the top of iTunes jazz charts. On 26 January 2014, Snarky Puppy, with Lalah Hathaway, won the Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance for their rendition of Brenda Russell's song Something from Family Dinner - Volume 1.
In 2016, the band released the album Culcha Vulcha which received the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album.
